The World Construction Forum, important world event in the industry, is dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Ljubljana Engineers Chamber predecessor of the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers and to the 100th Anniversary of the University of Ljubljana. Expert speakers from around the world and from Slovenia will join the WCF2019 to discuss individual topics inside the overall theme ‘Buildings and Infrastructure Resilience from Climate Changes to Disaster Risk and Facility Management’. More importantly, they will focus on six Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) related to water, energy, innovation, sustainable cities and infrastructure and action again climate change. As Marlene Kanga, WFEO’s President notes: “These are critical to ensure the quality of life and sustainable economies while protecting our natural environment.”

More than 500 attendees will arrive to Cankarjev dom – Cultural and Congress Centre Ljubljana; among them practicing engineers and architects, policy makers from administration bodies of all levels, researchers and scientists, university professors and students, construction industry representatives, developers and investors. Cankarjev dom – Cultural and Congress Centre will with its many halls provide space for discussing issues of shared concern and to develop appropriate engineering solutions for the future.

World Construction Forum is jointly organized by the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers (IZS) under the auspices of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and by the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering of the University of Ljubljana (UL FGG) with co-operation of several further international and national organizations and associations. This significant international event means a step forward from the successful World Engineering Forum WEF2012 that took place in Ljubljana in 2012.
