H10 Hotels has opened the H10 Palazzo Canova in Venice, a 4-star superior property with an exceptional location in the heart of the city, on the Grand Canal and a few metres from the famous Rialto Bridge. The hotel is housed in a completely restored 19th century building preserving its original facade. This building was the former headquarters of the Venice Land Registry.

The hotel therefore has an unbeatable location to discover the city, close to the main points of interest such as St Mark’s Square—, where you can find Saint Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace—, the Bridge of Sighs and the iconic La Fenice opera house.

An interior design that pays homage to Venice

The exclusive H10 Palazzo Canova pays homage to Venice with an interior design that combines a modern take on city’s past by using traditional elements and materials such as Murano glass, as well as typical Venetian fabrics and upholstery.

The renovation and interior design project, carried out by the architecture firm International Opera, takes inspiration in Venice’s most representative colours to create the hotel’s different decorative elements: the gold of the mosaics of the Saint Mark’s Basilica, the blue of the lagoon on which the city sits and the black of its gondolas.

The entrance to the establishment is through a large glass door that looks out at the Grand Canal and leads to the Front Desk, dominated by a magnificent blue Murano glass chandelier and there is an old altar recovered during the renovation work which has been used as a decorative element, imbuing the space with its own unique character.

The Front Desk leads to the hotel’s spacious lobby with different seating areas and sofas so that guests can rest or plan their visit. Richly decorated with tapestries and curtains from the prestigious Venetian firm Rubelli, this area has large windows that provide natural light, and is dominated by two other chandeliers in white Murano glass. WiFi is also offered as complimentary in all its facilities. The restaurant, which is situated as well on the ground floor, serves a varied buffet and a selection of à la carte hot dishes for breakfast. The restaurant, which has windows overlooking the Grand Canal, is a very elegant space decorated with rich fabrics and furniture with shiny black cladding that evokes the colour of the famous Venetian gondolas. This space also has access to the inner patio of the building, where in the warmer months guests can enjoy a pleasant breakfast outdoors.

Elegant rooms offering maximum comfort

The rooms at H10 Palazzo Canova, combining elegance and creativeness, are an ideal environment to relax in. The interior design is done in neutral tones with gold and blue which are used in the different decorative elements and furniture. Wallpaper by Rubelli has been used in the redesign of some of the walls to evoke damask fabrics in the same line as the hotel’s public areas.

Another feature of the rooms is in the bathroom shower, whose walls contain black and white photographs by the artist Andrea Sala, showing different corners of the city. The rooms are equipped with all the amenities such as a 49” flat-screen TV with international channels, Nespresso machine, USB ports and international sockets, bathrobe and slippers, Minibar and in-room safe, climate control system, professional hairdryer and Rituals brand amenities.

Of the different rooms in the H10 Palazzo Canova those with views of the Grand Canal stand out, such as the Superior Rooms Grand Canal and the spacious and bright Grand Canal Deluxe Rooms, as well as the Junior Suites Grand Canal, which have a bedroom and a living area with sofa bed in the same space. The hotel also has 3 Suites Grand Canal, which include a separate bedroom and living area. One of these also offers a private balcony.

A terrace with exceptional views of Venice

Undoubtedly, one of the gems of this establishment is the spectacular terrace, located on the top floor of the building. It is a unique space, which has two different areas: one covered where the bar is located, and the other open, which offers spectacular views of the Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal. Exclusive for hotel guests, this space is the ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine or a mixed drink along with a selection of light snacks while enjoying one of the best panoramic views of Venice.

This opening means the arrival of H10 Hotels in the city of canals and is the chain’s second hotel in Italy, having already opened the H10 Roma Città in the Italian capital in 2008.
