In three days in the second week of April, three diverse conferences took place inside the venues of GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre: on health care, on women in business, and a conference on law regulations in event organising. The diverse programme yet again showcased the ability of GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre to host events ranging all the way from scientific to political ones.

The first National conference “Healthy Connection – We Combine Power for Human Health” took place on the 9th of April. Organised by the Slovenian Ministry of Health, the conference marked the World Health Day on 7th of April. Health Minister of Republic of Slovenia, Aleš Šabeder, held the opening speech to the conference. “At the conference,” pointed out the Ministry of Health, “85 programmes and projects, that were carried out by 75 different non-governmental and other organisations and co-financed by the Ministry of Health, were presented.” The conference was particularly intended for everyone working in interdepartmental programmes in various ministries and institutions, county representatives, NGO representatives, and decision makers.

Next day, on the 10th of April 2019, a conference on the ‘Legal and formal aspects of event organisation’ by agency Eventnika was held. The conference incorporated all regulations and practices related to the organisation of events and it gathered experts in the field of GDPR, registration of participants, event insurances, how to register an event and get the appropriate permission (including music playback), how to take care of events, and how to properly  capture the event, post images after the event, and similar. Fourteen lecturers presented examples from practice. In addition to the already established regulations, attention was also paid to the trends of today’s time, as a round table on the topic of Trends in the organization of events was held.

And on Thursday, 11th of April, an event that is a signature event of the Slovenian Association of Women Entrepreneurs was held. Organised by company 500 Business Women, the 7th event 500 Business Women, Slovenia’s largest event dedicated to women entrepreneurs was held. Marta Turk from Slovenian Association of Business Women, noted for Kongres Magazine: “The 2019 edition of the event brought together around 620 participants from Slovenia, as well as numerous guests from abroad, Scotland, Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, and Germany.” The event included speeches, presentations and networking. “The GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre was chosen for its perfect offer of space and venues that can combine a congress with an exhibition together with a friendly and well-organised staff. It was an easy choice for the size and needs of our event,” concluded Marta Turk from Slovenian Association for Business Women.
