European Cities Marketing 2019 Conference and General Assembly is these days taking place inside Grand Hotel Union in Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana. ECM is the annual meeting of the European Association for Tourist Offices, Convention Bureaux and City Marketing Organisations. This year’s theme is dedicated to the complex and rapidly changing driving forces of urban tourism – technological development, consumer behaviour, the importance and role of DMOs, the latest marketing trends and other elements that will be key in shaping the future destination management.

There are more than 200 international delegates expected to discuss branding, target groups, ECM Research Report, ECM TIC Survy content, value of events, sustainability, etc. The social programme consists of a 2-hour walking exploration of Ljubljana in a combination of a boat cruise on the river; a tour on the Ljubljana Beekeeping Trail; a participation at the internationally acknowledged and awarded Ljubljana Moustache Tour; yoga session under the tress; canoeing on Ljubljanica River; a visit to Lipica Stud Farm; a tour to the medieval sea-side town Piran, and a trip to the famous Lake Bled.

Participants to the ECM 2019 in Ljubljana are getting another special treat: their dinners are being held in Ljubljana’s special venues – Ljubljana Castle and The National Gallery of Slovenia – where the top-notch quality Slovenian cuisine will be presented to the 200 international experts on urban tourism.
