Diggit, one-day digital communications conference is intended for the overview of digital trends, examples of the best digital practices, and online innovations among Slovenian agencies and advertisers. This year’s conference, held on the 6th of June, was for the first time organised solely by Marketing Magazine. The conference was attended by more than 1000 digital community enthusiasts and professionals and it again took place at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre (GR).
“We decided to carry out this year’s DIGGIT conference at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre again as it proved to be the most suitable location in the centre of Ljubljana. Participants particularly like the GR’s accessibility on foot, by bike or car. This year, we especially encouraged them to cycle or even walk to the venue, ” says Ariana Nina Eror, director of Media Partner, under the auspices of which Marketing Magazine is being published. In addition, the weather was nice, so the organisers were able to hold the social part of the conference outdoors on a grass. The GR’s outdoor space makes for a perfect venue particularly in beautiful summer months for breaks, catering and social gatherings during diverse meetings and events.

Every year the DIGGIT Program Council of the Slovenian digital communication conference fills up with numerous renowned international and Slovenian speakers. This year more than 60% of the speakers were women, like Slovenian swimmer and Olympic medallist Sara Isaković, and top skier Ilka Štuhec. Other speakers to emphasize were DJ Umek who talked about the future of musical industry in connection to block chains.
In order to honour the best digital solutions of Slovenian agencies and advertisers, DIGGIT annually awards the best projects in digital tools, channels, strategy and other digital solutions. The most creative and innovative digital solutions were awarded golden prizes, while the most inspiring works were awarded with the grand prizes. The expert jury awarded 10 golden and 4 grand prizes, and 3 works received a special mention of the jury.

Among all of the entries, Agency 101 received the highest number of awards – four golden and two grand prizes; while Mediodrom agency received 3 golden ones. This year DIGGIT for the second time awarded a special prize for the digital personality of the year – the Golden Iron. The award was in the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Conventino Centre given to Simon Cetin, the founder and partner of the digital agency iPROM, the high-tech company which, established 20 years ago, that in once place connects the widest selection of counselling, media and program solutions for implementation of digital advertising actions.
