Under the auspices of World Health Organization (WHO), a three-day Health Equity Conference will take place inside the halls of the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre (GR). The high-level conference, hosted by the Government of Slovenia, focuses on health equity, gender equality and the right to the highest attainable standard of health will be on from tomorrow and until the 13th of June 2019.

The call to address health equity, gender equality and the right to the highest attainable standard of health has become more urgent. Across the WHO European Region, average life expectancy is increasing and infant mortality is falling, and yet health inequities within countries persist. In this context, and with new evidence, WHO/Europe is bringing together Member States, international organizations and civil society organizations to take stock of progress to date and debate how to accelerate progress towards achieving healthier and more prosperous lives for all in the WHO European Region.

This is not the only medical meeting of the year in GR. In fact, in 2019 there are at least three international medical conferences and congresses to be held. Besides the Health Equity Conference, in early May, GR hosted the 37th ESPID (European Society for Paediatric Infectious Dieseases),  and in the second half of June it will host the Annual RIMS Conference 2019, the 24th Annual Conference About Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis.
