On the 29th and the 30th of August 2019, GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre will be a venue of the 8th Shanghai Fair, one of the largest and all-round exhibition projects presenting Shanghai local brands and products. Integrating five major exhibits of apparel accessories and consumer goods, chemical and nonferrous metals products, building materials and products, medical equipment and health care products, and high-end intelligent equipment, the fair is bringing the Shanghai enterprises to global business community. Since its inception in 2012, it has been held in Albania, Serbia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, and Ukraine. In Ljubljana, more than 193 companies will be exhibited on a 4,000 square meters of exhibition space in halls Kocka (A2) and Kupola (A).
The aim of the fair, which will host also some of the most renowned Chinese companies like Warrior rubber shoes, Daketang Teahouse, Son Lu ShangLin, and GW Industry, is to build the economic and trade cooperation between China and Slovenia, and to create opportunities for the businessmen. Various activities, including the B2B meetings, the Economic and Trade Investment forum and entertainment, will take place. Shanghai Fair is actively supported by the embassies, chambers of commerce, and local governments.
The organizer of the two-day fair told for the Kongres Magazine that they decided for the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre (GR) because of the professional venues and services, venue references, location, and very high ceiling in the halls, that are, as they noted, “an important thing when organizing the exhibition.” At the same time, they particularly emphasized two more advantages: “One is renting the ‘empty’ halls that give the opportunity to have the event by your wishes, while the other is the fact that the majority of the halls have daylight which gives to attendants a nicer feeling.”
The organizer also likes how almost all of the GR’s halls are located in the ground floor what makes for really easy logistics, as well as the courtyard about which they note that “It is big and this way the delivery companies have an easy access to the venue and the uploading and the unloading of the shipments is this way easy to handle.”
GR, as the hosting venue, is looking forward to hosting such a large and globally important fair and sees the Shanghai Fair as a “Great opportunity and support to trade and economic cooperation, opportunity for the local companies, as well as the chance to get the cooperation possibilities to the wider public.” On the first day the fair will open at 15.00h and close at 18.30h, while on the second day will open at 9.30h an close at 17.00h.
Partners that co-organise the fair are: Shanghai Public Diplomacy Association and Committee for Friendship with Foreign Countries of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Shanghai Committee, Shanghai Federation of Economic Organizations and Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economics, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Maribor Investment Institute, Sail of Shanghai “B&R” Trade and Economic Committee.
