Engage, Explore, Expand!

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s (the Centre) brand-new 11,000 sqm expansion is officially open for business as the venue hosts its inaugural event in the multi-purpose space – ARCHIDEX, which also becomes the first event to utilise the entire Centre’s space.

The extension enables the Centre to comfortably accommodate larger events, as well as host more events simultaneously. The new flexible spaces can accommodate innovative and experiential delivery of events and have been designed to easily adapt to any customer requirements. This purpose-built space allows clients to explore new meeting designs, networking hubs and customise their delegate experience to suit any occasion.

New additions include an expansive foyer area adjoining the Plenary Hall, for wonderful networking, cocktail and social engagement activities, which can extend into Hall 6 – providing an additional 2,862 sqm. Hall 6, 7 and 8 also have a hospitality suite and one lounge which can be utilised for various purposes.

With an excellent track record in hosting large international association meetings, the Centre is delighted to now provide more space for these clients to grow their events. The prospect of bidding for larger national, regional and international conventions is also now a very viable option.

For the Centre’s exhibition clients who have grown their events at the venue over the years, this additional space with excellent infrastructure and the same high-quality fit out as its existing Halls 1 to 5, means the Centre can enhance its partnership with them to better meet their evolving business objectives and increase its value proposition as a venue partner.

Alan Pryor, the Centre’s General Manager

Commenting on the versatile expansion, the Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, shared “This is another huge milestone and step forward for the Centre and we are delighted to use the new space to meet the growing demand and evolving needs of our industry.”

He continued, “The expansion enhances our world-class reputation as Malaysia’s premier purpose-built convention centre and strengthens the country’s attractive and affordable business events proposition.”

“To help create a truly innovative space, we listened to our customers. There is a demand for greater efficiencies and more creative choices when it comes to delivering experiential events. Our expansion gives our team the flexibility to provide customisable event solutions that deliver greater value to our clients and their participants,” added Pryor.

Pryor concluded, “It is very fitting that we are kicking off our brand-new expansion with one of our longest-standing exhibitions – ARCHIDEX. In the immediate term we already have 10 confirmed upcoming events that will be using the new expansion.”

According to President, C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Vincent Lim, Organiser of ARCHIDEX, “We are thrilled to be hosting the first event to utilise the Centre’s new expansion. We have enjoyed working closely with the Centre since 2005 and the journey so far has seen our event grow from almost 10,000 sqm of exhibition space to over 30,000 sqm this year. We are excited to have the new purpose-built extension to accommodate the growing magnitude of our exhibition. The additional space has given us more options to embrace innovative ideas for our exhibition as a whole.”
