Pula Castel Kaštel - a Fortress Overlooking Pula
Pula Castle “Kaštel” is an old fortress built by the Venetians, situated on a hill in the center of Pula. The center of the fortress has a rectangular shape, and four additional pentagonal tower increase its security. From aerial perspective, the Castle has a shape of a flower. The Castle was upgraded several times.
Today, there is Historical Museum of Istria in the castle, which has a collection of more than 75000 objects of cultural, historical, political, military and ethnographic character, in over 15 collections. It is known for hosting manifestations, gatherings, concerts, shows and movie projections, especially during the summer. The venue is also available for booking.
