Symbolically and technologically, the Helmut List Halle in Graz, Austria, represents both the past and the future, expressed in an exceptional way. This venue was built in collaboration with steirischer herbst, styriarte, Graz 2003 – cultural capital of Europe and the private investor AVL List, an Austrian-based automotive consulting firm and research institute. The former old factory building was transformed into an arts centre of the highest standard by architect Markus Pernthaler.
