The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) has affirmed its leading market position by winning the “Purpose-Built Convention & Exhibition Centre Excellence Award” at the inaugural Malaysia Business Events Awards (MBEA) 2019.

This accolade comes hot on the heels of the Centre winning the “Outstanding Venue Award” at the AFECA (Asian Federation of Exhibition & Convention Associations) Asian Awards 2019 earlier this month (October).

Organised by the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS), a leading voice in Malaysia’s business events industry, the MBEA recognises the very best of the business events fraternity, honouring industry excellence in the events and professional services.

According to the Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, “We are ecstatic to receive the inaugural award and are honoured to be amongst such esteemed finalists and industry leaders.”

“It is extremely pleasing to be recognised for our world-class space and facilities, quality standards, innovation and creativity, operational excellence, customer service and client management, and destination marketing efforts. This accolade reflects the commitment and professionalism of our talented team members, who work hard to make us the perfect business events partner for our clients. It also reinforces our reputation as Malaysia’s premier purpose-built venue and one of Asia Pacific’s leading facilities,” he concluded.

MBEA consists of 14 categories that aim to promote industry best practices; encourage new and innovative ideas to inspire other businesses; and elevate industry standards of exhibitions, conferences, events and related activities and services, ensuring business events stay competitive in the global marketplace. The awards were judged by an independent panel consisting of respected figures from various sectors within the business events industry and included MACEOS advisory board members, bureaus, academics and relevant trade associations.
