A MUSEUM OF GREAT PROPORTIONS AND INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCES

The Park of Military History in Pivka, Slovenia is a lot more than just a museum. It’s a modern complex that developed from old military barracks built by the Kingdom of Italy around 1930 in order to defend the Rapallo border. From 1945 to 1991, the barracks were home to the Yugoslav People’s Army. The museum centre experienced extensive development and quickly became the largest museum complex in the Republic of Slovenia as well as one of the largest military-historical complexes in this part of Europe.

It houses an excellent military-themed restaurant, a well-stocked museum shop, a motorhome stopover site, several walking and hiking trails and even an ectric vehicle charging station. It’s also an out-of-the-box venue for all sorts of events, where you can be sorrounded by tanks and cannons from the Second World War, fighter aircraft and a 19-metre-long P-913 Zeta sabotage submarine, which is one of the highlights of the museum.
