IN HARMONY WITH NATURE’S BEAUTY AND FLAVOUR

Ráspi is a winery and restuarant in Sopron, a small Hungarian city located right on the Austrian border. The restaurant was opened in 1994 and their philosophy has not changed since. Everyhting is made in harmony with nature’s beauty and flavour, emphasis is out put on natural ingredients, there’s a herb garden outside and everyhting is made fresh on the spot. You won’t find Coke, Sprite or Fanta on the menu. Instead, freshly squeezed juices, homemade bread, cheese and most importantly, one of the best wines you will ever try. Their Kékfrankos wine is sold in London, France, Austria and New York. The principle is simple. The grapes need to come from 30-80 year-old vines with radically low yields, never more than 1000kg per hectare.

József Horváth was born into a winemaker family and has been involved with viticulture since he could walk. He is an incredible host and a strong believer in natural ingredients and humility towards nature. Speaking of nature, the restuarant contributed greatly to the revival of truffle culture in the region, as truffle dinners have been carried out in the restaurant since the 90’s.
