Premium selection of golden bubbles from five countries
For the 8th consecutive year, the Sparkling Wine Festival will attract top sparkling wine and champagne makers from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Austria, and France. On December 26th the luxurious Crystal Hall of Kempinski Palace Portorož will host the best bubbles from 35 wine cellars. Visitors will have the choice of more than a hundred samples of white, red and rosé sparkling wines, prepared according to the Traditional or Charmat method. For the full experience, you will also have the opportunity to taste real champagne from the French region of Champagne.
Exquisite cuisine
A glass of fine sparkling wine is best accompanied by a bite of sophisticated food. For the luxurious culinary delights at the festival this year a selection of French cheeses and oysters will be served. The most demanding connoisseurs will be able to purchase a special ticket to enjoy a gala dinner in the prestigious hotel restaurant, Sophia. Chef Marjo Povšnar has prepared a four-course menu, each course accompanied by a glass of selected sparkling wine.
Chansons of the legendary music diva
For the perfect atmosphere, the legendary Tereza Kesovija will impress with her chansons and emotional voice. Her performance will take place at an outdoor venue, in the park of Kempinski Palace Portorož, and she will present the most iconic musical moments from her rich musical opus.
Bubbles and gin
Did you know that sparkling wine can be perfectly combined with gin? Try a delicious cocktail from the labour of the popular actor Rado Mulej. He will present his gin GiniBee at the festival, boasting a special taste due to using honey from Slovenian bees in the gin production. Rado will use this special occasion to mix gin with sparkling wine and create an elegant classic among cocktails – French 75, which will complement the glamorous atmosphere.
Tickets for the 8th Sparkling Wine Festival are already available on the festival’s official website www.festivalpenin.si, TIC Portorož and TIC Piran. The concert in the park will be free of charge.
