Over 120 specialists took part in the Annual Forum
On December 6, Saint Petersburg Convention Bureau hosted its Annual Forum at Hotel Astoria. In his speech, the General Director of St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution «Convention Bureau» Andrey Matsarin presented the results on the work done by the Saint Petersburg Convention Bureau this year and also outlined key plans and priority areas of future work. He noted that in 2019, the Convention Bureau provided 18 applications for holding international business events with a total number of delegates of about 37 thousand people in 2020-2024, in St. Petersburg. “It is worth noting the importance of attracting such events to St. Petersburg, because even small seminars and congresses bring to the city from $ 200,000, and the income from major events amounts to millions of dollars”, Matsarin noted.
As a result of work done with the participation and support of the Bureau, large-scale world congresses are set to be held in St. Petersburg: Worldchefs Congress & Expo, Global space exploration conference GLEX, the World Energy Congress, the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) and others.
In 2019, over 120 specialists took part in the Annual Forum, including representatives of the Administration of St. Petersburg, MICE industry companies, the hospitality industry of St. Petersburg, as well as experts and specialists from the related service.
