The 2020 RSA Annual Conference will be held from 17th-20th June 2020 in Ljubljana, Slovenia
The Regional Studies Association’s Annual Conference 2020 #RSA20 will be the association’s largest knowledge exchange and networking gathering to date and the first time an Annual RSA Conference is held in Slovenia.
The Regional Studies Association (RSA) is the global interdisciplinary network for city and regional research, development, and policy. Th RSA is a registered charity and established research funder operating in the field of regional and urban research, policy and development since 1965, with members in 79 countries and a global network of 20,000+.
The four-day Annual Conference will bring together academics and policymakers to exchange news, views and research findings from the fields of regional studies and science, regional and urban economic development, policy and planning.
For the purpose of the conference, the RSA will bring representatives from around 50 nations including representatives of top universities such as Cambridge, UK, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, and Peking University, China as well as representatives from organisations such as the OECD, the World Bank and the EU Commission to Ljubljana.
The conference will feature 450+ presentations, high-profile plenary speakers, a number of specially convened sessions, workshops, training and networking sessions, walking tours, field trips and side events. The social programme will include a conference gala dinner, side events, sport activities, exhibitor stalls and post-conference tours to explore Slovenia.
To support researchers in their early careers the RSA offers conference fee waivers (conference bursaries), career development sessions and workshops and runs an early career plenary speaker competition as part of the conference.
The conference is being held in partnership with the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The official DMC partner is Go Green (Ekoturizem d.o.o.) which will handle all travel and accomodation arrangements.
