IVAN TAVČAR’S FINAL RESTING PLACE
The rural Visoko Mansion from the 17th century is situated in the heart of Poljanska Sora, surrounded by the neighbouring hills. The Mansion is the final resting place of one of the most famous Slovenian writers and politicians, Ivan Tavčar. The Mansion is also home to a cafe and a summer garden. The mighty mansion and its previous esteemed owners, the Kalan family, were the source of inspiration for Ivan Tavčar’s most famous work “Visoška Kronika”.
Alongside the original complex, you can also find a spacious wedding and events hall, featuring a typical Slovenian hayrack. The pristine nature is also perfect for a bicycle trip or a guided incentive trip. The cafe inside the Mansion is furnished to resemble the 17th century.
