The frenzy surrounding the coronavirus outbreak resulted in major events cancelling across Europe. However, IMEX, scheduled to take place from the 12th to 14th May 2020 in Frankfurt is reassuring everyone that the congress will go ahead as planned. The team continues to plan for the show and has no plans to postpone or cancel.

The IMEX team wishes to comfort all the exhibitors and attendees of the tradeshow that they have not experienced any substantial impacts of COVID-19 so far. They remain informed and are keeping track of the situation while also staying in close contact with their partners in Germany and with the relevant health authorities.

“Mindful of our duty of care, we’re also carefully considering and consulting with experts on what the appropriate sanitary, health and other measures should be. Ray Bloom and I assure you that all appropriate measures will be in place at IMEX.”
– Carina Bauer, IMEX CEO

COVID-19 is presenting the business events and travel industries with an unprecedented global challenge. The IMEX team are passionate believers in, and advocates for, the substantial social and economic power of meetings and events. They feel strongly that it is the collective responsibility of the meetings industry to focus on the facts and to act with common sense and sound judgement, taking the advice of the relevant authorities and scientists.

According to Corina, the negative long-term impact of speculation, hype and over-reaction will be damaging not just to the industry, but also to your local communities and business as a whole.
