This year’s edition of the Chef’s Stage gastronomy and catering congress will be taking place on the 16th and 17th of March 2020. For the 3rd time in a row, it will make Šibenik the central culinary stage for the world’s biggest gastronomy names. Nicolai Ellitsgaard, Oriol Castro, Adam Meszaros, Adeline Grattard, Soenil Bahadoer, and many others have already announced their arrival at the congress.

Chef’s Stage is a gastronomic platform that encourages the genuine exchange of knowledge and experience while critically assessing current issues in gastronomy, hospitality, and tourism. It is strategically placed in a town with strong local gastronomic heritage and tradition dating back to Roman times. It is highlighted throughout the event and presented in breath-taking nature and in cooperation with small local producers. One of the missions of Chef’s Stage is encouraging the sustainable development of gastronomy, hospitality, and tourism, which is very important for Croatia and the wider region.

Visitors of this year’s Chefs’ Stage are expected to have two inspirational congress days, four masterclasses with the most beautiful views of Šibenik, and six gala dinners at exclusive locations where local and foreign gastronomic authorities will prepare their delicacies. The event has a charitable note and the proceeds of the two gala dinners, hosted by the Pelegrini Restaurant will go to the Budi Foodie Foundation, which provides talented young people with an education at prominent international culinary institutes.

The theme of the 3rd Chief’s Stage congress is tradition. The host, Rudi Štefan, explains: “It is always necessary to take two steps back to achieve more and take a step forward. That is, one has to identify with tradition and local foods in order to be different and interesting and to present something new to everyone who visits Croatia (for the first time).”
