Tallinn has constantly proven itself as a convenient and versatile destination for business travel. Every year sees thousands of conferences taking place in the city and Tallinn’s position in international rankings is as high as ever.

In 2019, a total of 3.771 conferences with over 242.493 delegates took place in Tallinn. 989 of these were international conferences, which is a growth of 16 % compared to the previous year. Of all conferences held in Estonia, 77 % took place in Tallinn. The largest international conference was the JCI World Congress with 4.100 participants.

Tallinn at record-high position in annual ICCA rankings

Tallinn’s universities and academia have a large impact on the development of the conference tourism of Estonia.

This is demonstrated well by Tallinn’s impressive 41st position on the annual ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) rankings for conference cities. This result is the highest of all time for Tallinn as a conference and business tourism destination.

At the Tallinn Convention Bureau they have been gathering conference statistics since 2000. In 2013 they have started using Meetings.ee, a pioneering and completely unique web platform which makes the collection of data even quicker and more convenient.
