The International Live Events Association (ILEA) has announced the nominees for its prestigious Esprit Award and Spirit of Excellence Award competitions, honouring creativity and innovation in live event design and production as well as outstanding achievements by ILEA chapters and chapter leaders, respectively. Nominees were announced by ILEA Esprit Awards Chair JC York and Spirit of Excellence Task Force Chair Megan Johnston, CSEP, DMCP, live on July 15; winners will be honoured at the first-ever ILEA Awards Celebration, a live virtual show on August 21.

ILEA received more than 200 entries for this year’s Esprit and Spirit of Excellence award programs. Volunteer judges lent their time and expertise to identifying nominees in 34 Esprit categories and subcategories and eight Spirit of Excellence categories.

“In the midst of a deeply challenging year for our global live events industry, these event professionals continue to inspire us with all they’ve accomplished and contributed,” said Jennifer Trethewey, CSEP, 2019-2020 ILEA International President. “Our Esprit nominees once again raise the bar by redefining the art, creativity, and science of live events, while our Spirit of Excellence nominees – through innovation and passion – further strengthen and grow ILEA chapters around the world. Together, this powerful combination will ensure our industry doesn’t just weather the crisis but will well and truly recover and thrive in its aftermath.”
