The Maribor Tourist Board recently selected Jure Struc as the new director of the organisation. The newly-appointed director will serve as the head of the organisation for four years.

Neva Pipan, the President of the Executive Board of Maribor Tourist Board said: “Members of the board have unanimously decided that both candidates, Martina Rauter and Jure Struc, have proven their diligence towards improving the tourist development of the city. We have decided to entrust Jure Struc to expertly and visionary lead the projects that will encourage visitors to explore Maribor and its innovative and quality services. The challenges we face in tourism are growing, and in response, we will have to react with targeted marketing between partners. The new Director of Maribor Tourist Board said: “Maribor is a city with unique character, excellent location and unmatched stories. We pride ourselves on titles such as the European Capital of Culture and the European City of Sport. Maribor is an authentic and welcoming city, however, for us to become one of the best Slovenian tourist destinations, it is crucial to create memorable experiences for our guests and visitors. To create this, we must coordinate our vision with key stakeholders and support our activities by actively engaging the community and fortify Maribor’s position as a tourist brand. I will use my know-how and experience from business and communication to create a unified image of the Maribor Tourist Board as a competent partner in tourism that is trusted by the community. We will use the time of the pandemic to outline goals and strengthen business partnerships. By doing so, we will make sure Maribor is ready for the restart of tourism under difficult conditions and prepared to face the competition locally and regionally.”
