ACTA 2021 is expected to attract over 1,000 specialists, including 400 foreign participants from more than 36 countries. These experts will engage in discussions of various types of ablation, such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA), microwave ablation (MWA) and cryoablation. They will deal with ablation in various organs – not only in the liver but also in lungs, thyroid, kidneys, bones and soft tissue. The three-day intensive program will be filled with plenary lectures, scientific presentations, and case contest in line with the theme of ACTA 2021 “Lead the world.”
Unfortunately, ACTA that was initially planned to take place in 2020 had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. However, ACTA Director Members decided to choose Tokyo as the venue for the conference in 2021 due to the outstanding achievements of Prof. Shuichiro Shiina and his team. Their strong enthusiasm to hold the conference and trust in Tokyo as a safe host city were decisive factors that ACTA Director Members chose Tokyo as the venue for the conference 2021. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG)’s financial and in-kind support were also important factors in that decision.
ACTA’s return to Tokyo is sure to foster a variety of significant positive impacts on not only the Asia-Pacific Region but also the other parts of the world, by sharing and demonstrating state-of-the-art tumor ablation practices among professionals throughout its diverse array of countries. The TMG and TCVB will continue to support ACTA in order to ensure a successful and unforgettable 7th conference in Tokyo.
