Meeting Professionals International (MPI) is planning to hold its signature European event, the 2021 European Meetings and Events Conference (EMEC) on June 15, 2021. The 32nd annual EMEC will build on its innovation and education partnership with MPI’s nearly 1,000 European members and nine chapters and clubs to produce a virtual event that is designed for Europeans by Europeans. This year, the event will utilize “Make Your Future”, as its theme, which will create a first-ever direct link to MPI’s World Education Congress (WEC), taking place June 15-17, 2021 at CAESARS FORUM in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The date and format for EMEC were finalized by MPI and its European Advisory Council (EAC) on Monday, February 15. Building on EMEC’s core principles—sustainable, locally-flavoured, designed for and by Europeans and industry idea incubator—EMEC 2021 format details are provided below:
• Due to the cancellation of IMEX Frankfurt 2021 (scheduled to take place May 25- 27) and the uncertain nature of the pandemic, MPI, through consultation with its European Advisory Council (EAC), decided to move the date for MPI’s European Meetings and Events Conference (EMEC) to June 15, 2021.
• This year’s event will be virtual. MPI is contracting with a local producer, Paul Cook, who is an expert in virtual experiences and a former President of the UK Chapter of MPI.
• EMEC will deliver safe, productive and innovative business connections and learning experiences, through eight hours of content and programming which includes contributions from MPI’s European chapters. MPI has nearly 1,000 members in its nine European chapters and clubs.
