Cyprus is here, Cyprus is open.

Cyprus offers itself as a year-round destination for Meetings, Conferences, Incentive trips and Events. On 14 & 15 April, the first-ever virtual MICE exhibition featuring Cyprus will be taking place – Meet in Cyprus 2021. Over two days, the event will bring together travel and event industry professionals with hotels, DMC’s, PCO’s and other key suppliers through individual meetings, workshops, talks, discussions, activities, one-to-one video meetings and a full agenda of digital events.

Meet in Cyprus is sponsored by the Cyprus Convention Bureau of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and is organised by CIMA – Cyprus Incentives & Meetings Associates.

With Cyprus opening up from Spring 2021, the organisers want to remind you of their famous Cyprus hospitality; and share what is new and exciting in the destination. Here are 10 reasons why you should choose Cyprus for your next event:

The island is known as one of Europe’s sunniest, with over 300 days of sunshine every year, this means that outdoor activities and events are almost always a possibility.

Cyprus is regularly ranked in European and global rankings as one of the safest small nation-states.

Located in the eastern Mediterranean, between Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa; Cyprus has been a natural meeting place for centuries. Today, the island’s two international airports connect Cyprus to the world with a multitude of daily international routes.

Outdoor Activities
With its crystal clear waters, sandy beaches, pine-covered mountain ranges, picturesque villages dotted with vineyards and wineries, Cyprus offers the ultimate playground for outdoor activities. Contact one of our DMC members for ideas and suggestions.

History & Culture
Boasting 10,000 years of history, visitors to Cyprus can experience the island’s rich heritage. From ancient temples and roman theatres to byzantine monasteries and medieval castles.

Cyprus, as a mature travel destination, has a large collection of five and four-star options to match any event. From large conference hotels to boutique properties for smaller incentive trips and everything in between. Check out CIMA’s hotel members for inspiration.

Infrastructure & Logistics
Due to the country’s small size, only 3 hours drive east to west; MICE delegates have the opportunity to explore the whole island and its variety of landscapes in a relatively short period, while the excellent road network helps in keeping transit times short.

From medieval castle courtyards to ancient amphitheatres and a large selection of modern venues; Cyprus has a variety of sites to choose from for your next event. Contact one of our DMC members for ideas and suggestions.

Drawing inspiration from Greek and Levantine influences, Cypriot cuisine offers something in all seasons. The island is well known for its variety of restaurants that cater to all tastes.

Bringing it all together is Cyprus’ legendary hospitality, a hearty “Kalimera” and a big smile go a long way to make your guest feel welcome from arrival to departure.

About CIMA

Cyprus Incentives & Meetings Associates (CIMA) was formed in 1997 to represent the stakeholders to the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) industry in Cyprus. While the founding members were DMCs, today the association represents DMCs, PCOs, Hotels, Venues, AV, transport companies and ancillary partners to the industry in Cyprus.

CIMA has a permanent seat at the Cyprus Convention Bureau’s advisory committee, under the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, with the aim to promote MICE on the island.
