Lviv celebrates Global Meetings Industry Day

Lviv Convention Bureau will take part in Global Meetings Industry Day-2021. The team will join a 12-hour online marathon with international event experts. The event aims to show the value that conferences, congresses, exhibitions, corporate events bring to business and the economy.

The theme of GMID-2021 is «MEET SAFE». As part of the celebration of GMID Lviv CVB will share successful cases of holding safe conference events in Lviv during quarantine. Examples of such events for Lviv are IT Arena Conference, which took place in a hybrid format last year, and the 24-hour youth forum MoloDvizh.

The first case is an example of excellent digitalization. In a short period of time, the organizers of the largest IT conference in Eastern Europe reformatted the live event into a hybrid event. 4 professional, high-tech offline studios. 88 speakers from 28 countries. 4076 online attendees who had a connection from two devices: a computer and a phone for listening to speeches and have a chat.

The second story is about a creative approach of transforming a location to a safe venue. The organizers of All-Ukrainian Youth Forum «MoloDvizh» in 2020 divided the territory of Festrepublic into several thematic zones in order to reduce the flow of participants. Pre-registration was done via a Telegram bot, and entry via QR-codes. Sanitary stations were set up in each zone, temperature screening was provided, in the conference halls were arranged remote seating of participants.
