Colleagues often ask me for my opinion on which events made a breakthrough for the meetings industry and thrilled me personally. After long consideration, I have created a list of ten events that have caused tectonic changes and influenced my approach to organising events.
My selection is purely subjective and eclectic and does not follow any methodology. On the contrary, the list is intuitive. The only logic which I followed when selecting the best events was event legacy and the Pareto principle that can be summarised as follows:
An event comprises 80% communication and 20% logistics or event management.
Above all, the following events have proven outstanding from the perspective of communication. Moreover, the events have left their mark and legacy on the meetings industry.
