If you visit Bratislava this summer, make sure to stop at Good Point in Zlaté Piesky. Boasting the coolest beach in town, the Good Point Beach is a unique beach club, bar, cinema, and coworking space where you can wakeboard. As incredible as it may seem, it is a project created from scratch; every container, every grain of sand, cushion, chair or speaker were part of an ingenious plan to create a beach in the middle of Bratislava.
The impressive and unusual project was recently awarded by the Czech Event Association. The purpose of the Good Point project was to find an adequate replacement for summer festivals and to minimize the impact of the pandemic on marketing activities. The organisers prepared a two-month festival and an attractive program. Parties, concerts, cinemas, pub quizzes and lots of other activities were held at Good Point Beach, which welcomed guests on its sandy white beach. In the year when most traditional festival brands cancelled all activities, they provided an oasis free of COVID-19.
In previous years, an estimated 40,000 people saw the Good Point platform at festivals, while the attendance of the Good Point in Zlaté Piesky was almost 60,000. The platform was so successful that the client increased the budget for the years 2021 to 2025. Following the easing of restrictions, the owners of the Good Point in Zlaté Piesky plan on significantly expanding it in the upcoming years.
Bratislava’s Good Point Beach played an integral part in one of the biggest reggae festivals in the region – Uprising Festival. The event will also take place this year right next to Good Point Beach, which will host hundreds of visitors. During the two days of the festival, several genres will be presented on four main stages and many smaller ones. The venue has become Bratislava’s haven during hot summer days. Furthermore, its unique space has attracted numerous event organisers to host their event on the shore of the Zlate Piesky Lake.
Just a shot away from Good Point Beach, visitors can try out wakeboarding at one of Bratislava’s most desired places for hot summer days and nights. The Wakelake’s restaurant and bar offer tasty food and can host festivals and events throughout the year.
