Madrid – a preferred host city for large high-level medical congresses
This announcement comes a few months after the ESC selected the Institution as the host venue for its global congress for 2025, confirming the attractiveness of IFEMA MADRID and Madrid as a host city for large high-level medical congresses.
The HFA comprises more than 10,000 members, and past Heart Failure congresses have hosted 5,500 to 6,000 delegates at their in-person editions. The programmes have featured up to 300 faculty, with around 90 sessions, 2,000 abstracts and clinical cases submissions, and more than 100 countries represented. The 2021 edition took place online (29th June – 1st July), with an increased attendance of 8,100.

Beyond the education of medical specialists, the HFA and the ESC – whose mission is to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease – also promote patient awareness. In this respect, the HFA website for heart-failure patients and their caregivers, heartfailurematters.org, features educational content in a variety of formats, including easy-to-understand, captivating animations explaining heart failure and how it can be managed.
