IN THE EMBRACE OF VINEYARDS
The Albiana Estate, which today operates as a unique venue for events, was bought by Albin and Ana Žaren in 1936. At first, it was a farm, but later it was transformed into an authentic wine estate. Since the beginning, the owners have been monitoring the conditions and potential of what their vineyards can offer. Based on these findings, they have created a new tier of wines: a selection of the best vineyards and grapes of the highest quality named ALBIANA after Albin and Ana Žaren as a tribute to them – the pioneers of their story.
The oldest part of the cellar lies under the family house and is more than 300 years old according to official written sources. Today, the cellar is bigger and modernly equipped in three stories – processing room, maturing cellar with inox vats and wood barrels, filling room and maturing chambers in which wines in different temperatures mature. It can be a perfect choice for event organisers who wish to organise an incentive programme or event in the vicinity of vineyards.
Guests are invited to experience Albiana wines in their unique environment at their guest house. All the culinary creations they offer are from their own production or from local farms. Throughout the year, they also organise several events based on wine and cuisine in cooperation with the best local restaurants and winemakers.
