Alexey Kalachev, Director of the Russian Convention Bureau, has been appointed General Director of MEC (Moscow Export Center). The new head of the MEC has extensive experience of working in major private companies and state bodies, and more than 15 years of experience in communication, event and project management, including organization and management of All-Russian and international events, exhibitions and conferences, as well as Public Relations activities.

The Russian Convention Bureau, which Alexey Kalachev has headed since November 2017 has since become one of the leading public organizations of the industry, which brings together around 100 companies, leaders of the event market of the country. Over this time the Russian Convention Bureau became a recognizable brand on the international market and took the promotion of Russia abroad to new heights. The organization plays a significant role in the development of the congress market and business tourism in the country. In October 2019 the director of the RCB became a member of the Board of Directors of ICCA (International Congress and Conference Association), and co-chairman of Territory Marketing Sector. At present, Alexey Kalachev continues leading the Russian Convention Bureau.

In his capacity of the General Director of the Moscow Export Center Alexey Kalachev will work on developing programs on activation of foreign economic activities of Moscow companies, support of export-oriented enterprises of the capital, as well as work on developing new anti-crisis methods and instruments.

In his commentary, Alexey Kalachev said that his previous experience on the Russian and international markets, including his experience in promoting non-resource export of Russian products will be of great help to him in managing goals and tasks of the Moscow Export Center.
