EYE-CATCHER AMONG SCENIC VINEYARDS

LOCATION

If you ask about Tri Lučke in Slovenia’s Posavje region, you will experience an explosion of fond memories of a legendary popular tourist and gastronomic establishment from your interlocutor. The vineyards of Sremič high above Krško are a place of special energy, unparalleled views and home to one of the most distinctive Slovenian event venues. Vineyards of Sremič create a backdrop for the elegantly renovated restaurant, conference centre and boutique hotel. The Zorko family decided on an extensive renovation and brought to life an exceptional event venue. Thus, the project is a rounded whole that appears to be tailored-made for smaller boutique events. Likewise, the estate can host demanding incentive groups, and we can easily imagine a car launch of a renowned car brand or a pharmacists’ conference taking place here…

ACCESSIBILITY

Access to Krško is straightforward and should not represent an issue. The highway is only a shot away from the city, while Zagreb Airport, currently one of the most bustling airports in the region, is a mere fifty kilometres away. Equally effortless is the journey by train, whose track is one of the busiest in this part of Europe and runs right through the city. The picturesque road amid vineyards leading to Sremič is an integral part of an incredible experience. Guests arriving by car, including electric, will be awaited by a spacious parking lot. If you wish to discover the surroundings actively, the hotel has a set of electric bicycles ready for you.

COLD STARTER - Architecture and aesthetics

From the original restaurant that operated from 1985 and featured a panoramic platform, little has remained apart from the legendary wine press, built by the Styrian Counts von Attems in 1874. The winepress, famed for being one of the biggest in this region of Europe, is today elegantly incorporated into the dining room – a sign of the new owners’ style and approach to heritage. The estate has been renovated with a noticeable feeling for tradition and appears extraordinarily authentic, and at the same time, modern. A meticulously trimmed garden and the openness of the estate’s spaces offering spectacular views are breathtaking. Of course, we cannot forget the estate’s latest addition, the new private suites that have emerged on the edge of the estate and boast spacious terraces. On the whole, the estate appears harmonious with nature and the surrounding landscape.

WARM ENTRÉE - The staff and the culinary experience

It does not take more than a step through the door of the main hotel-restaurant building to see that the staff has long been in the company of the most demanding guests. You are accompanied by professionals from head to toe at every step. Chef Dejan Mastnak, who has been acclaimed by the Gault Millau guide, is one of the best on Slovenia’s gastronomic scene. The cuisine is excellent and in line with tradition while following world trends. The tasting menu accompanied by local wines wowed us. Even more impressive was the breakfast, whose quality we had not tried in Slovenia for a long time. The simply outstanding breakfast revolving around quality ingredients is synonymous with the local, authentic, and above all, creative story. I heartily recommend that you indulge in the culinary masterpieces of Tri Lučke’s team.

MAIN COURSE – The meetings offering at the hotel

Hotel rooms

The hotel rooms are located in the main restaurant building and in the manor house. Furthermore, separate apartment pavilions are now on offer from this year onwards. The rooms in the main building are designed in a combination of bright shades and feature oak wood and a pleasant wooden floor. A spacious desk will be appreciated by business guests, and the balcony with a great view is an additional bonus. The bathroom is equally impressive, and as expected from such a hotel, equipped with quality cosmetics. Although the beds are not the best, they are solid and offer a good night’s sleep. On the other hand, the rooms in the apartment houses are much more luxurious and thrill guests with their terraces, as well as wine refrigerators, as appropriate for a hotel situated amid vineyards. The quality rooms contribute to the estate’s story, although they are not the guests’ main motive for visiting the hotel.

Meetings centre

The heart of the offer for events is a glass hall that can accept up to 120 participants. Its advantage is that you can effortlessly drive your vehicle into the hall itself. The hall is becoming increasingly popular among wedding organisers. The estate also offers a conference room for up to 80 participants. All the capacities are well equipped tech-wise and can be easily placed among the best in this part of Slovenia. Organising an event among vineyards or on the lovely outdoor surfaces is also worth considering. The participants will unquestionably be amazed.

DESSERT – The extras

As suitable for a boutique hotel located in a wine-growing region, Tri Lučke has one of the most complete wine lists in this part of Slovenia, encompassing everything from Slovenian’s award-winning wines to local favourites.

FLOP – NEGATIVE SURPRISES

It is hard to ascribe any drawbacks to such a great hotel, and one would need to be very hairsplitting to do so. What we can mention; however, is the rather clumsy access to the pool leading through the restaurant’s terrace, as well as the hotel’s lack of a wellness centre. I am sure, though, that a spa will be added to the offer in the near future and thus attract more guests in the winter months.

TOP – POSITIVE SURPRISES

The creative modern gastronomy of chef Dejan Mastnak is based on local ingredients and is setting the culinary standards of the region.

FINAL IMPRESSION AND CREDIBILITY

There are hotels that leave you indifferent, those that put a smile on your face, and those that become trend-setters. Hotel Tri Lučke belongs to the latter. Even though the hotel has been open for a few years, it still appears fresh, particularly after its latest addition of apartments or the so-called wine hotel. World-class cuisine contributes to the general wellbeing as much as the whole story, which leaves no room for critiques of any kind. The hotel belongs to the elite Slovenian league of incentive venues and has incredible potential in this field. I strongly recommend the hotel to all organisers of boutique events.
