The Summit was held for the first time in Munich from July 22-25, 2021, where more than 1,800 young leaders from over 190 countries gathered in person and digitally at the city’s well-known venues, including the Olympic Park and BMW Welt. Highlight speakers this year included Professor Muhammad Yunus – Nobel Peace Prize winner, Sir Bob Geldorf – musician and activist, and Halima Aden – fledged supermodel. The opening ceremony was streamed freely on the social media channels of One Young World and muenchen.de.
