As of today, MCEC has hosted more than 280,900 vaccine doses, helping to reach vaccination milestones and protect the community, enabling the state to reopen safely.
Along the way, MCEC also encouraged those attending the venue for their vaccinations to “pay it forward” by buying a nurse a coffee, with over 1,927 coffees having been donated now, averaging 50 a day.
Peter King, Chief Executive of MCEC, said he is proud of MCEC for playing such a pivotal role in the health of the community. “We have all seen huge changes to the way we live, and by MCEC providing space for the essential healthcare workers to administer the lifesaving vaccine to the members of our community, it’s meant we are able to meet the government vaccination targets and help get the city back to a covid normal.”
