VINEYARD IN THE HEART OF LJUBLJANA

Since 2016, 1,050 vines sorts have been planted here. The Castle Vineyard offers a unique, under-the-stars outdoor space for your next event. Seasonally grown vegetables, fruits, home-made meats, quality ingredients from local producers, accompanied with exquisite wine will surely thrill event attendees.
A descendant of the oldest grapevine in the world grows by the castle walls. A bottle of the Grajska Žametovka wine has been given to the Queen of the United Kingdom, Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, among others. In order to revive the tradition and consolidate Ljubljana’s title as a City of Grapevines and Wines, Ljubljana Castle became home to a one-of-a-kind castle vineyard.
Another reason to visit Ljubljana Castle is its latest addition – Wine Bar & Shop Strelec. A 220 square metre space below the Estates Hall has been renovated and a terrace covering 75 square metres has been built on the castle’s bastion to accommodate the wine bar and shop. The wine shop will also store the castle’s unique wines.
