Geared to the concept of active corporate and social responsibility

The team of the Stuttgart Convention Bureau is wholeheartedly committed to conscientious, resource-saving management, transparency, and fair social interaction – geared to the concept of active corporate and social responsibility.

This year’s IMEX, to be held from 31.5.-2.6.2022 in Frankfurt, marks the restart of the meeting sector. In accordance with the IMEX-Motto: “We don’t just want to think about the future, but to shape the future”, it also focuses on the theme of nature. This is why the Stuttgart Convention Bureau is presenting numerous certified locations and sustainability offers from the Stuttgart metropolitan area.

With the guiding principle “We care”, the Stuttgart Convention Bureau is the experienced contact partner for organisers interested in incorporating the ‘green’ highlights of Stuttgart and the surrounding region in their event planning. There’s a wide range of surprising and attractive options available:

• At the end of last year Stuttgart received the German Sustainability Award, further increasing the appeal of conventions and incentives in Germany’s most sustainable metropolis. Whether out of doors or in sustainably-run locations – meeting topics are conveyed here in a convincing and responsible way, and unforgettable incentive moments are generated. A helpful tip: find relevant locations by selecting ‘Green Policy’ in the Online Meeting Guide under www.congress-stuttgart.com.

• The climate-neutral Messe Stuttgart trade fair centre with the ICS International Congress Centre Stuttgart offers flexible exhibition solutions with additional outdoor event space on an area of 120,000 m².

• Players also show their commitment by signing the WIN Charta Baden-Württemberg. They include the Liederhalle Culture and Congress Centre, the Congress Center Böblingen Sindelfingen, Stuttgart Airport, the Messe Stuttgart trade fair centre and the Stuttgart-Marketing GmbH with its Convention Bureau. All of these actively support the social, ecological and economic goals of the initiative – in the form of this sustainability management system that is unique among the German federal states.

• The Liederhalle Culture and Congress Centre offers its clients a comprehensive Green Events checklist to help them plan sustainable events.

• In the region, the Stadthalle Reutlingen recently confirmed its commitment by once again fulfilling the Green Globe sustainability criteria by 100%. The congress venue is located close to the renaturised R. Echaz in the green area of the Bürgerpark. The city of Reutlingen, which lies in the middle of the “Swabian Alb” biosphere, is at the same time the ideal starting point for a host of sustainable options for framework programmes.

Karina Grützner

Head of the Convention Bureau

Karina Grützner, head of the Convention Bureau, is convinced of the future viability of the sustainable offers available: “Owing to the events of the past two years, priorities have changed. Interpersonal exchanges at congresses and events have meant that sustainability has become even more important because it is strongly linked to personal wellbeing. And saving resources, in particular, has a top priority at present, thanks to soaring energy costs. During the IMEX in Frankfurt or in a private consultation, we’ll be pleased to take you on a tour of discovery and advise you about the many sustainable event solutions in the Stuttgart Region.”

Variety, unforgettable experiences and sustainability in one

Active framework programmes – with the focus on Corporate Social Responsibility if desired – bring people together and provide insights into the destination. The choice is huge: from an enjoyable wine tour to actively exploring Stuttgart’s famous ‘Stäffele’ – the countless flights of steps, some secluded, others picturesque, that originated because of the city’s geographical location in a valley basin and are now put to creative and modern use. With a birds-eye view over the town, visitors can let their gazes wander and discover new and sometimes surprising aspects of Stuttgart’s diversity. Those preferring more hands-on activities can learn how to make pretzels or organic cosmetics. Whatever the programme, fun is guaranteed.

The Waldhotel Stuttgart holds Green Sign Level 5 certification and is idyllically located in the woodlands not far from the world’s first Television Tower. Just 15 minutes away from the heart of Stuttgart, guests can enjoy meetings and nature at team building events or panoramic views with a glimpse behind the scenes of the Television Tower. In the region, the Bürgerzentrum Waiblingen is a civic centre offering innovative meeting formats that transport the flair of the historical town centre to the Talaue – the park directly adjacent to the congress centre – with convincing event concepts.

Initial inspirational ideas can be found in the Meeting Guide Stuttgart Region. Here, congress planners and event scouts will find countless sustainable locations and a wealth of enticing programmes.
