UNDER THE STARRY SKY
Devil’s Courtyard, one of the most picturesque parts of the Križanke complex, was originally designed by architect Jože Plečnik as a venue for smaller chamber events. The venue is marked by a built-in network of lights that create the marvellous illusion of a starry sky. The Devil’s Courtyard is an alluring place for receptions and smaller conferences. The unique venue offers 100 seats and has become sought-after by meeting planners.
The Križanke Summer Theater is managed by the Ljubljana Festival. Once the oldest monastery in the city, which belonged to the Teutonic Knights, it was converted into a summer theatre according to the plans of architect Jože Plečnik in 1950. Križanke is considered one of the most acoustic outdoor venues in Slovenia.
The large stage with an in-depth space for the orchestra is suitable for various theatre and musical performances (opera, operetta, ballet, etc.), symphony concerts, theatre productions, and pop and jazz concerts. It is also occasionally used as a venue for banquets at major events. The theatre is equipped with a large sliding roof, which allows performances to run smoothly even in bad weather.
