Once home to the Governor-General of Venice, the palace will serve as an exhibition space and gallery, while a multi-purpose hall will be used for music and film events. The Governor’s Palace and Duke’s Palace were restored five years ago, forming a complex stretching over 7,000 square metres. The restoration is one of the largest culture-related projects in Zadar.

Culture Minister Nina Obuljen Koržinek and Regional Development and EU Funds Minister Nataša Tramišak said the project is a major milestone for Zadar: “This is a very successful project and the pride of the entire community, the City of Zadar and Zadar County. More than 1,600 EU-funded projects, worth over HRK 3.8 billion, have been carried out here in the Zadar County,” Tramišak said at the opening ceremony.

The Governor’s Palace is a monumental building that dominates the eastern part of the historic core of the city of Zadar. The oldest part of the palace dates from 1607. With its latest renovation, it will serve as an event venue with a historic background for a plethora of events.
