Positively Impacting the Association Meetings Industry
ICCA, the International Congress and Convention Association, is the global leader in the international meetings industry and the community and knowledge hub for the industry. ICCA Is proud to announce that Thomas Reiser, Executive Director of The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), has been bestowed with the ICCA Global Influencer Award.
Reiser is the first to receive the ICCA Global Influencer Award which was created this year to acknowledge influencing personalities for their outstanding contributions that foster community engagement as well as inspire colleagues and peers in the global association meetings industry.
ICCA Global Influencer Award has been awarded to Thomas Reiser to recognize his achievements of over 25 years as an association management professional practising in Europe and the United States successfully leading several prominent international non-profit organizations and his active engagement in the global association meetings industry. He has also been chosen for his positive impact on the industry through his personality, knowledge, and expertise.
Reiser has been in his role as Executive Director since 2011 at the ISTH, an international medical-scientific professional membership organization with more than 7,500 clinicians, researchers, and educators working together to improve the lives of patients with bleeding and clotting disorders in more than 110 countries around the world.
“I am immensely humbled and grateful to be recognized by ICCA with the Global Influencer Award. Since the beginning of my career, I have learned and benefited so much from the global meetings and association community. I appreciate my peers, colleagues, partners friends and the community as a whole who have always been a source of inspiration, knowledge, wisdom and strength to me and each other – particularly over the past two years. This is really what the international meetings and association community is about – we are here for each other, we share and learn together, we find solutions together and most importantly we lift each other up and make each other more successful. I also dedicate this award to the amazing staff at ISTH as well as the ISTH leadership who have allowed, encouraged and supported me to play an active role in this industry. I look forward to what the future holds for the association meetings industry and to continue to work collaboratively to navigate and shape this new, exciting era,” said Thomas Reiser.
The ICCA Global Influencer award winner was announced together with other accolades during the IMEX Gala Night. A special thank you to the IMEX team for the opportunity and for organizing a night that will be remembered.
