WINE-INSPIRED EVENINGS ON A HILL
Mađerka Breg is a special venue within the Štampar wine estate. The view from the hill reaches four countries – Austria, Slovenia, Hungary and Slovakia. On clear days, visitors can see rolling hills or even spot Zagreb in the background.
The venue was named after Emilia Krauthaker, better known as “Mađerka”. Emilija was born in Budapest and moved to the hill around 1940 as a Hungarian ballerina and wife of Albert Krauthaker. Mađerkin Breg is today a cult place in the Međimurje wine region that represent the genius loci of the estate. Breg is the estate’s wine lounge under the open sky, a place for fine snacks and a venue for concerts and gatherings.
Visitors shouldn’t miss a tasting of Štampar wines nor leave without purchasing a souvenir or a bottle. Their astonishing list of wines includes Urban White, Pro et contra, Pinot grigio and other awarded wine sorts. Guests can, in addition, indulge in mouth-watering bites while admiring the stunning views.
