This year marks the 30th anniversary of the United European Gastroenterology (UEG). More than 10,000 experts from the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology joined UEG Week 2022 to celebrate the occasion. The congress took place for the 5th time at Meeting Destination Vienna.


UEG Week is considered one of the most important international meetings for gastroenterology and hepatology. This year, the congress was held for the first time at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center. It also celebrated its premiere as a hybrid event. In total, UEG Week 2022 attracted more than 10,000 delegates from 113 countries. Over 8,000 experts followed the meeting live from Vienna, the remaining participants used the well-established virtual congress platform. Delegates from Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands and the US were particularly well represented.

Vienna’s Gothic Revival City Hall provided the ideal setting to celebrate the 30th anniversary.

UEG Week 2022 offered a comprehensive program with 430 sessions, more than 1,500 posters, 1,760 abstract presentations and 3,850 square meters of exhibition space.
