“Ljubljana’s restaurant owners, hoteliers, owners of bars, wine shops, cafes and catering educational institutions, and various studios are increasingly actively co-creating the festival program every year. Both with suggestions and ideas, as well as in securing guests and making connections. This is very important for Ljubljana,” commented the Director of Ljubljana Tourism, Petra Stušek, on an increasingly unifying role of the November Gourmet Ljubljana festival.

European Food Symposium
The first week of the festival, which begins on 2 November, will culminate in the high-profile European Food Symposium, which promotes Slovenia as an important gastronomic region and Ljubljana as its culinary capital. This year, it will take place from 5 to 7 November at the Ljubljana Castle.
Ljubljana Tourism will organise two alluring culinary events: Gourmet Ljubljana Crawl and Ljubljana Soul Chefs. The former connects cuisine, culture and architecture – a unique culinary exploration of the cultural sights of Ljubljana. Slovenian female chefs will be guests at this year’s event in cooperation with the international association of young restaurateurs JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs.

The central part of the European Food Symposium will be an expert symposium where many outstanding individuals who are changing the established way of producing and consuming food and encouraging proactivity for a better and sustainable future will summarise their thoughts on food for a better tomorrow.
The November Gourmet Ljubljana festival will enrich the city’s events throughout the month with numerous culinary events, from various culinary workshops for adults and children to Sunday Ljubljana lunches and events related to wine, beer and gin. The traditional Ljubljana wine route will present the best Slovenian wines in the old centre of Ljubljana. Cankarjev dom will again host the Slovenian Wine Festival between 18 and 19 November.
