Messe Frankfurt was awarded the Bronze Medal after successfully completing its first-ever ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) rating. This places it among the top half of the best-rated companies audited by EcoVadis, the world’s largest provider of company sustainability ratings.
In EcoVadis’s rating and in the implementation of ESG criteria, a number of specific corporate sustainability activities – environmental protection, labour and human rights, sustainable procurement and ethics – are examined and need to be backed up with suitable evidence.
Sustainability: central pillar in corporate strategy
Sustainability is a central pillar of the Messe Frankfurt Group’s corporate strategy. Here the company strikes a healthy balance between ecological and economic interests, social responsibility and diversity. In past years, Messe Frankfurt has already undertaken a series of voluntary commitments relating to sustainability, such as joining the UN Global Compact, the Charter of Diversity and the ‘fairpflichtet’ sustainability code. As well as this, Messe Frankfurt supports the sustainability initiatives of industry associations AUMA and the Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC) in their efforts to organise climate-neutral events.
