Gateway Gardens in Frankfurt is known to be one of the best-connected MICE locations in all of Europe. With Germany’s largest airport at its doorstep, convenient connections to local, regional and long-distance transport options and a superbly developed motorway network nearby, this new Frankfurt city district is quickly and easily accessible from literally all around the globe.

Ten top-class hotels boasting over 2,200 guest rooms offer overnight guests a full range of services and amenities. Event planners, meanwhile, have approximately 3,900 square metres of floor space available to them, spread out across six congress hotels and the various conference venues located nearby. Moreover, downtown Frankfurt and the vast city forest, both just a stone’s throw away, provide the perfect backdrop for events of almost every variety.

From 1945 until 2004, this new quarter was part of the Rhine-Main Air Base, the largest U.S. Air Force base outside of the United States. In 2005, operations ended and the base with its vast grounds was handed over to the City of Frankfurt. The blueprints for a modern city district were drawn up some five years later and construction began shortly thereafter. In the meantime, some 30 companies have made the 35-hectare quarter their home.

Diverse Conference Opportunities

In Spring 2022, the b’mine Frankfurt Airport Hotel opened its doors in the Gateway Gardens. Offering sweeping views of the Frankfurt skyline as well as the hustle and bustle of the airport, this ultra-modern hotel offers a total of 241 modern guest rooms. What’s more, 40 so-called “CarLofts” offer hotel guests the opportunity to park their motor vehicles directly in front of their rooms, with loading stations available for hybrid and fully electric vehicles. The hotel’s event area comprises over twelve function rooms, all of which are equipped with the latest event technology, thereby enabling event organisers to plan and perform business functions amidst a very special atmosphere.

Following its aim of developing and introducing new solutions for the logistics and mobility industries, the House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) brings business, science and politics together under one roof. Thirty-function rooms and open networking areas offer the ideal preconditions for successful events. Whether it’s a workshop, congress or hybrid event, the opportunities available are endless.

The Perfect Social Programme

Thanks to its immediate proximity to Frankfurt Int’l Airport, the city forest and the city centre, Gateway Gardens offers event planners countless options for incentives and social programmes.

At Flight Simulator Frankfurt, for example, fully trained commercial airline pilots introduce event participants to the cockpit of an Airbus A320, afterwards enabling them to take the controls of the aircraft for a simulated flight to a destination of their choosing. A mobile flight simulator is also available for special events without participants needing to leave their location.

At the Lufthansa Aviation Training Center, visitors are offered an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the professional training areas used to train the airline’s flight crews. With the cabin simulators, which are regularly used for safety training and emergency exercises, event participants have the chance to experience aircraft evacuations on escape slides while under the instruction and supervision of a professional safety trainer.

Frankfurt’s Green Heart

Frankfurt’s city forest is known to be one of the world’s largest municipal forests as well as the most expansive inner-city wood in all of Germany. Situated directly adjacent to Gateway Gardens, event planners and participants will find this 5,000-hectare woodland to feature a 450-kilometre path network, which invites visitors to partake in extended walks, jogging, hiking, cycling and more.

Culinary Highlights

The conference experience at Gateway Gardens is rounded off by a well-balanced culinary offer. Ranging from fusion-inspired foods and regional favourites to vegan and vegetarian dishes, diners will find almost everything that their hearts – and palates – desire.
