Anime Show is the 16th annual edition of the international pop culture festival. Anime fans meeting in Bratislava together with Game Expo will get insight into the latest happenings in anime, comics, Japanese culture, sci-fi, fantasy, horror and KPOP.

The event offers a rich selection of lectures, panel workshops, competitions and movie screenings. Moreover, it features meetings with writers, book premieres and several creative competitions. The expo showcases computer games, console games, mobile games, board and card games, retro gaming and technologies. It includes gaming competitions, lectures about games by developers and professionals, and previews of new games and indie games.

A rich and diverse programme over three days

The accompanying program consists of enticing shows full of excitement. Two cinema halls will screen the best movies from sci-fi, fantasy, horror, comics or anime genres, with no film older than one year.

One of the new features of this year’s Anime Show will be the new Japanese music arcade game JuBeat. The game was first released in 2008. Attendees will try the latest version called Festo. The game is one of the top music games from Konami, alongside DDR, Pop N Music, Beatmania, and Nostalgia. From Friday, March 24 to Sunday, March 26, the festival will transform into a hub for thousands of attendees who are interested in gaming.

The festival will also offer a plethora of computer games, including PlayStation, Nintendo, virtual reality, slot machines, retro games from the 80s and 90s, dance games, indie games, board games, card games etc.

The atmosphere will be enriched by various attractions, such as sculptures of superheroes, a photo wall, adrenaline sports, game tag, historical archery, falconers and horseback riding. Guests will find shops, stalls, an alley of artists, and cosplay stands in the marketplace. Attendees will have the chance to refresh in restaurants, buffets, and tearooms or indulge in quality street food. Japanese cuisine will also be an integral part of catering.
