The SERGS 2023 conference, chaired by Dr. Vasiliki Chatzirafail, reflected on the latest developments on the international scene in the field of robotic technology research and practice.
The opening ceremony was addressed by the Regional Governor of Attica and President of the Athens Medical Association, Giorgos Patoulis. Holding this dual role, he emphasized how important it is to hold this conference in Athens, both for the specialized knowledge shared by Europe’s leading robotic surgeons, and for the promotion of Attica’s extroversion.
The scientific program included lectures on the new developments in robotics applied worldwide in gynecological surgeries for malignant diseases and uterus transplantation, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), Big Data and the evolution of virtual and augmented reality (AR) and Metaverse in surgical education and minimally invasive surgery practice.
