For the past fifteen years, the international trade show Conventa has been taking place in Ljubljana. From this year onwards, Conventa will finally enable attendees to experience individual partner destinations up close and personal. The organisers will roll out a long-anticipated project named Try Before You Buy by Conventa.

The pilot project for the event was the Incentives Alpe Adria event, which turned out to be a great success. Organising the event has shown that a boutique-sized event, combining experiences at a destination and one-to-one meetings, brings exceptional results. The event is limited to 20 hand-selected buyers and 15 local service providers. The interest in the first event in Budapest was much greater than the number of available spots. Attendees of the first event can look forward to an exceptional programme, where they will see what it is like to host events in the Queen of the Danube. The event will take place between 1 and 3 September in Budapest.

The organisers offer the opportunity to host the event exclusively to destinations and convention bureaus that have been exhibitors in previous editions of Conventa. Through the project, they will strengthen partnerships. Among Conventa’s exhibitors, there is tremendous interest in hosting the event. The organisers will thus announce future host destinations of the event in 2024 and 2025 after the debut event in Budapest. With Budapest first to host the event, numerous other fresh, alluring and popular destinations in New Europe are slated to host future editions.

The co-founder of Conventa

Gorazd Čad, the co-founder of Conventa, emphasised: “The name of the event – Try Before You Buy by Conventa – discloses the essence of the event. The event focuses on promoting and experiencing a destination in a boutique and exclusive way. Tailor-made experiences focus on specific target groups that Budapest wishes to host. We limit the group size to ensure the event provides an authentic and quality experience. Most importantly, the event connects two brands. In Budapest, twenty carefully selected event organisers from various European countries will meet with 15 local providers from superb hotels, venues and agencies based in Budapest.”

The organisers have prepared a rich and diverse programme. Participants will see some of the most popular and outlandish venues for events in Budapest, such as Tesla Loft, Twentysix Urban Garden, Várkert Bazaar, Royal Riding Hall, Museum of Fine Arts, Széchenyi Thermal Bath, House of Music and other urban gems.

What makes the event unique is that on the first day, hosted buyers will explore the city side by side with local representatives before continuing with business meetings the next day.

The event hosts emphasised that Budapest boasts a winning combination of superb meeting hotels, picturesque meeting venues, diverse incentive locations, tasty cuisine and a host of enticing activities.

The organisers are convinced the event will meet the attendees’ expectations and embody the event’s vision, encompassed in the slogan: exciting – positive – fun – active.
