REVAMPED SOCIAL CENTRE IN OSTRAVA

The main cultural and social centre of the Porub area of Ostrava turns heads with its unique design. After an extensive reconstruction, four new lounges were created in its space, which are used for rent. Training, seminars, team buildings, presentations, etc. take place here. Each of the lounges has its own name.

The entire building of the cultural centre, including the anterooms, was reconstructed. Access roads were repaired and replacement plantings were planted. Inside the renovated Poklad, visitors can find a theatre hall for 400 people, a social hall, a small theatre hall for 100 people, an exercise hall, 3 multifunctional classrooms and 2 lounges. A restaurant with a terrace and a club area is also a pleasant place for social gatherings and refreshments, and there is also a mini-cinema for 70 people. All spaces are air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible.

Since its inception in 1961, the venue has been the centre of culture in the district. It offered a number of halls, classrooms and other spaces that were used by generations. In 2009, the Poklad House of Culture was declared a cultural monument of the Czech Republic by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. Its owner, the Statutory City of Ostrava, decided in 2012 to reconstruct the entire building. Construction work began in June 2019, with the overall renovation completed in August 2021.

The amphitheatre or Summer Stage Amfi is located behind the building of the cultural house Poklad. In the summer months, in addition to film screenings, theatres, concerts, lectures, discussions and festivals are held here. The summer screening season usually lasts from June to the end of September.

Restaurant Poklad offers a selection of local dishes and international cuisine. They offer lunch menus, theatre menus and organise family celebrations, wedding receptions, graduations, christenings, graduation parties, birthday parties, business lunches, dinners and other events.
