As a source of information and inspiration for modern live communications, BOE INTERNATIONAL on 17 and 18 January 2024 is not only set to present innovations, highlights, tried-and-tested event technology and all kinds of event services – it will also address key trending topics in the event industry, this year focusing also on exhibition and stand construction using aesthetically impressive and largely environmentally friendly solutions under the banner of sustainability.

On 17 and 18 January 2024, BOE INTERNATIONAL – the flagship experiential marketing show – will be starting the new year as usual by showing a comprehensive market overview covering all requirements in the event industry. One of the trending topics in the industry – and hence also at BOE 2024 – is the ecological and economic transformation that is posing (and will continue to pose) major challenges to everyone in the event sector.

For the first time, BOE is organising a speciality zone entitled ‘Sustainable Stand – Best Practice Area’ putting visitors in the right frame of mind as part of the sustainability experience and taking them on an inspiring journey into the future of sustainability. The zone is intended to be a source of inspiration and to demonstrate, via its own stand concept, that sustainability doesn’t have to be expensive or aesthetically lacking. This will also include sustainable developments in exhibition and stand construction which, like all segments of the event industry, is committed to environmentally friendly design.

The unique stand concept was designed and implemented in conjunction with capable partners, with thought-provoking ideas coming from Holtmann Plus, the German National Event Industry Association (fwd:) and the International Federation of Exhibition & Event Services (IFES). The speciality zone is largely supported by product and service partners Octanorm, MossInc, Event Rent, FastLane, Malkus Veranstaltungstechnik, Lemonpie Eventcatering and Papstar.

Exhibition and stand constructors standing up for sustainability

At BOE, exhibition and stand construction companies will be demonstrating their sustainability credentials with ecological materials and reusable modular system constructions for a better ecological footprint or even full net-zero compliance.

Here are selected examples from the broad spectrum of experienced scenery construction experts at BOE: Von Hagen Design, an internationally established specialist in sophisticated spatial staging, equips brands with anything from small, simple stand systems through to individually designed multi-storey show presences. Aluvision will also be present as an innovative developer and global provider of high-quality, modular systems for events. Attractive solutions for indoor and outdoor use are created in its production facilities in Europe and the US. M.A. Systems will be presenting sustainable and unusual technical concepts ranging from exhibition stand construction and stage building to lighting, sound systems, video walls and bespoke designs.

Another business with worldwide operations is fair4you Gesellschaft für Messemanagement. The expert in stationary and mobile meeting spaces designs and builds all sizes of trade show presences, pop-up events, customer incentives and much more, from the smallest of spaces to large areas. Media Spectrum is also coming to Dortmund with bespoke stage and stand construction solutions together with high-quality options for lighting, sound and video equipment.

SpeedDimension has been on the market for almost 30 years creating temporary and permanent space solutions for almost all requirements. The company ships – to destinations worldwide – multifunctional modular walling and raised access floors with infinitely variable levelling that can be installed without tools. skyliner will be bringing along attractive event canopies that can be used as weather protection and as media projection surfaces. Mobile units from muna, on the other hand, create ‘moving’ spaces and allow standard dimensions to be extended by almost twice the floor space. This is done using a patented, hydraulically lowerable and extendable swap body.
