Accor, a world leading hospitality group, announces the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Georgian development company Mardi Holding to open a new Mercure on the Black Sea coast in Batumi, Georgia. The hotel will deliver the ultimate in customer service, wellness, gastronomy and leisure, as well as additional benefits thanks to the global loyalty program ALL – Accor Live Limitless.
“We are delighted to announce our new signing in Georgia and the future premiere of Mercure brand in Batumi recognized as Europe’s leading all-season destination 2023 at the tourism “Oscar”, World Travel Awards, for the third time. We are confident that impeccable service as well as local charm, home comfort and traditional Georgian hospitality will provide an unforgettable experience that is worth coming back again for. We are grateful to our partner Mardi Holding for this excellent opportunity to present a new project on the Black Sea coast of Georgia and are very optimistic about the new opportunities here,” notes Alexis Delaroff, Chief Operating Officer of Accor New East Europe.
Mercure Batumi is a third signed project for Accor and Mardi Holding: earlier this year, the companies announced the construction of new hotels under the Novotel Living and Handwritten Collection brands, which will also be located in Batumi, Georgia.
Mercure in Batumi will open on the Black Sea coast, within walking distance from a well-equipped private beach. The hotel will be conveniently located within a 5-minute drive from the Batumi Botanical Garden and a 15-minute drive from the lively city center with the main attractions, trendy restaurants and local flavor.
The new hotel will offer 308 spacious and comfortable rooms of various categories, including apartments with kitchenettes. Its infrastructure will feature three gastronomic restaurants with wellness-inspired sets in menus, two bars and a BBQ area. Guests will enjoy a spa center with a diverse range of services for body relaxation and mental wellbeing as well as a modern fitness center. Outdoor activities will be available throughout the day, including tennis and basketball.
“The Mercure brand’s concept, “Locally Inspired”, immediately attracted our attention. Within this project, we will strive to highlight true Georgian hospitality in a completely new format, which includes everything – comfortable rooms thoughtfully created by designers and technical specialists, exciting experiences for local discoveries, and all modern hotel services. We hope that with this project we will encourage people to feel how beautiful and unique Georgia and Georgian hospitality are,” Nugzar Berishvili, Managing partner at Mardi Holding, notes.
Mercure in Batumi is scheduled to open in 2026.
